About the role
- Organize, validate, and ensure the quality of complex client data, integrating it into advanced predictive models
- Run models, interpret results, and craft clear, compelling narratives to help clients understand their risk profiles and inform strategic decisions
- Perform critical calculations to assess risk exposures and forecast outcomes, supporting the reinsurance transaction process
- Conduct research on industry trends and regulatory developments to evaluate their impact on loss liabilities and client portfolios
- Contribute to high-impact discussions with clients, providing expert insights and innovative reinsurance strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and colleagues, ensuring prompt and effective communication
- Stay informed on industry-specific and specialty trends that could influence reinsurance programs and calculations
- Leverage proprietary MetaRisk software to develop and optimize bespoke reinsurance transactions, evaluating their impact on clients’ capital, growth, and volatility objectives
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client outcomes through technical expertise and strategic analysis
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams to deliver strategic insights to large insurance companies worldwide
Requirements
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree with expected graduation Winter 2025 or Spring 2026 in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics
- Curious and proactive mindset with ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to simplify complex technical analysis and concepts for brokers and clients
- Collaborative, team-oriented attitude and effective interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage and advance multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in MS Excel and skills in other MS Office applications
- Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without sponsorship now or in the future
- Willingness/ability to work hybrid with at least three days per week in the office at listed locations
- Preferred: Completion of 1–2 Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams
- Preferred: Familiarity with R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Power BI or other programming/visualization tools
- Preferred: Experience in technical role at a reinsurance broker, market, or catastrophe model software vendor
- Preferred: Prior experience in insurance/reinsurance and understanding of reinsurance industry and product lines
