About the role
- Execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the North America data domain in alignment with organizational goals
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives based on business value and strategic alignment
- Anticipate the data needs of product squads to unlock faster speed to value and insight
- Promote data as a strategic asset within the domain and across the organization
- Ensure adherence to data governance frameworks, policies, and standards and apply data quality management
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies such as GDPR, CCPA
- Drive development and maintenance of core data assets (master, transactional, reference data)
- Partner with data engineering teams to implement scalable data solutions and oversee data lifecycle management
- Monitor operational performance of data systems, resolve escalated issues, and optimize processes
- Act as primary point of contact for data-related matters and ensure transparency in priorities and decision-making
- Support analytics and reporting needs by ensuring availability of high-quality, well-documented, governed datasets
- Partner with analytics and data science teams to deliver insights and drive innovation
Requirements
- 4-7 years of experience in data management, governance, engineering, integration, or related roles
- Understanding of applying data governance principles, DQM, compliance standards and security protocols to global data environments
- Hands-on experience with data management tools, data analysis, or data visualization software (Python, SQL, Power BI) a plus
- Experience with DevOps principles such as CI/CD, unit testing
- Project ownership skills with the ability to operate in Agile Product framework
- Conversant with Data Regulations and Laws e.g. GDPR, CCPA, PIPL
- Experience with big data technologies, ETL processes and Data modeling (ideally Microsoft Azure)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related STEM subject (required)
- Preferred: Master's degree in above fields
- Preferred: Accreditations/certifications (e.g. DAMA) in data management and/or data governance
- Preferred: Professional certifications in SQL, Python, CAP, Microsoft certification
