About the role

  • Transact Campus and CBORD partnership focused on integrated technology solutions for education, healthcare, and business campuses
  • Lead design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data architecture to support data-driven decision-making
  • Develop and implement comprehensive data architectures, including data models, pipelines, and integration strategies
  • Design and oversee implementation of data lakes, warehouses, and modern data stacks using tools like Databricks
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks with focus on GDPR and data privacy (and HIPAA where applicable)
  • Collaborate with clients, product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify data needs and drive adoption
  • Create detailed architectural blueprints, documentation, and standards for maintainability
  • Lead cloud-based data solution integrations on Azure or AWS and optimize data storage and processing
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, recommend improvements, and mentor junior architects and engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Power BI
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Deep understanding of modern data stack technologies including ETL/ELT, data modeling, and big data tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience managing data lakes and optimizing data workflows
  • Preferred: Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools or Microsoft Fabric
  • Preferred: Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, Apache Spark, Kafka, ML with Python
  • Preferred: Prior experience in regulated industries (finance, education, healthcare)
  • Preferred: Certifications in cloud architecture or data management
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Computer/Data Science
