About the role
- Provide occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, education, and equipment training for hospital patients
- Assess ADL/IADL, ROM, strength, coordination, functional mobility, and equipment needs
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans with measurable short- and long-term goals
- Use independent clinical decision-making to progress and modify treatment
- Monitor patient status during treatment and respond appropriately to changes
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to support patient care
- Complete all relevant documentation in a timely manner according to professional guidelines
- Establish provisions for continuing services/follow-up as needed
- Prioritize patients based on individual needs and organizational protocols
- Utilize evidence-based frameworks to establish best practices
- Perform bracing/positioning, modalities, and other therapeutic techniques
Requirements
- Master's in Occupational Therapy required
- OTRL required
- BLS required
- Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of occupational therapy concepts, practices, and policies
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport and trust
- Strong listening and speaking skills and ability to motivate others
- Ability to demonstrate positive work ethic and dedication to patient and family-centered care
- Ability to demonstrate sound clinical judgement in the synthesis of complex evaluation data
- No experience required; some experience preferred; inpatient setting experience preferred
