About the role
- Responsible for all design engineering activities for the Americas Industrial Business
- Approves developed products as well as technical standards
- Steers continuous improvement processes in the area of responsibility
- Ensures compliance with technical standards for locally developed products within a specific product group
- Approves results of customer negotiations regarding specifications of products
- Approves/steers development of design concepts for the products
- Approves all project management activities of engineering projects
- Leads, assigns, and directs project team members within the engineering group
- Plans, implements, and controls budget in the area of responsibility
- Steers activities of a team of engineers dedicated to a specific product group within R&D/Engineering department
- Initiates and monitors innovation projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- Master’s degree (MBA or Engineering) strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in product design and development
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, filtration, or OEM environment
- Experience managing cross-functional and global projects
- Track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
