About the role
- Actively prospect and grow our network of financial advisors, using a consultative sales approach to position PICTON’s alternative investment strategies, including hedge funds, liquid alternatives, and long/short portfolios
- Support and collaborate with your assigned External Wholesaler, sharing innovative ideas and executing on strategic sales initiatives to grow advisor engagement and assets under management (AUM)
- Assist in developing territory business plans, identifying new sales opportunities across the IIROC and MFDA channels
- Consistently meet and exceed activity targets including outbound calls, emails, virtual meetings, and advisor appointments designed to advance the sales funnel
- Provide responsive, proactive service to advisors and existing clients, ensuring high-quality follow-up and coordination with the External Wholesaler
- Maintain strong technical understanding of investment products, including mutual funds, hedge funds, ETFs, and other portfolio solutions aligned with PICTON’s offerings
- Accurately record and track all advisor engagements and pipeline activity in CRM (Salesforce) with detailed, actionable notes
- Organize and maintain up-to-date records on advisor contacts, territory opportunities, and performance metrics
- Participate actively in team meetings and sales strategy sessions, contributing insights and collaborating on best practices
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Must currently hold the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) designation or be actively working toward its completion within the first year of employment
- Additional designations such as CIM, CFA (Level I+), or CFP are considered strong assets
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales, client service, or business development role within the financial services, investment, or wealth management industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for building and maintaining advisor relationships
- Bilingualism in French is required
- Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative, persistence, and a desire to build a long-term career in investment distribution
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and outreach activities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, or training
