About the role
- Provide expert leadership, technical authority and delivery oversight for sustainability and environmental management across M&G’s corporate operations globally
- Shape and execute M&G’s operational decarbonisation pathways
- Ensure workplace sustainability activity is compliant, defensible, auditable and aligned to regulatory requirements
- Translate Group‑level climate ambitions into practical, data driven actions across offices, business travel and suppliers
- Maintain clear ownership of statutory and regulator‑facing sustainability reporting for corporate operations
- Advise senior stakeholders on sustainability‑related risks, obligations, and opportunities
- Design, govern and deliver corporate decarbonisation programmes
- Own end-to-end responsibility for statutory and regulatory sustainability reporting
Requirements
- Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management or a closely related discipline, plus a relevant post-graduate qualification
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in sustainability or environmental management within a large, complex corporate organisation
- Proven experience of decarbonising corporate operations, specifically across Corporate offices, Business travel, Supply chain
- Strong, demonstrable expertise in Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), CDP reporting, Carbon credits – quality, governance and appropriate use
- Deep understanding of sustainability regulatory and statutory reporting requirements applicable to corporate operations
- Ability to operate with high autonomy, exercising expert judgement and influencing senior stakeholders without line authority
