About the role
- Assist management with coordination of projects, resources, tools, and communications across EMC
- Provide support for interactions with the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Prediction Central Operations (NCO) to resolve issues, communicate resource needs and constraints, and submit and monitor tickets related to resource management
- Monitor and document system outages and maintenance activities, and communicate relevant information to management and stakeholders across EMC
- Coordinate and track allocation of equipment and support property management activities
- Support transitions of IT software and tools by coordinating with NCO
- Review and proofread publications such as journal articles, office notes, and presentations; manage associated internal review processes
- Provide logistical support for seminars, meetings, and related events
- Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to provide excellent customer service
- Knowledge of computer systems, operating environments, and basic programming concepts to effectively interact with NCO staff, guide users to appropriate resources, and support troubleshooting
- Must be someone who can take initiative
- Ability to work effectively with diverse scientific and technical teams
- Familiarity with research environments, high-performance computing systems, and scientific documentation processes is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of relevant experience
