About the role
- Design, implement, and manage secure network architectures to protect organizational data and systems.
- Update URL and content filtering policies; troubleshoot application issues arising from SSL decryption and web proxies.
- Assist with network security gap analysis, control mapping, and process development.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of the organization.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on security best practices and awareness.
- Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Perform security audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and respond to security breaches, including conducting forensic analysis.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and conduct regular drills.
- Manage and maintain security infrastructure, including VPNs, proxies, and encryption technologies.
- Coordinate with external security vendors and consultants as needed.
- Prepare and present security reports to management and stakeholders.
- Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on design, configuration, and deployment experience in network security solutions
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with NGFW (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco)
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with NDR solutions (e.g. Darktrace, Corelight, Extrahop)
- 4+ years’ experience collaborating with technical team members, business analysts, and project/program managers to ensure a quality solution is delivered.
- 4+ years’ experience with Scripting tools (Curl, Python, Glue, Powershell)
- Preferences: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Excellent ability to document and diagram solutions and infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to identify root causes of issues and provide solutions.
- Experience with software including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft O365.
- Strong knowledge of IT networking and infrastructure.
