About the role
- The Account Executive serves as the primary client-facing consultant, delivering proactive support and responsive service.
- Lead client meetings, facilitate discussions with HR and executive stakeholders, and present strategies, benchmarking data, and financial analyses in a clear, compelling manner.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships based on trust, expertise, and consistent delivery of value.
- Develop, analyze, and manage group insurance programs—including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability—in the context of broader employee total rewards strategies.
- Provide data-driven insights to clients regarding plan performance, cost management, and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with clients to design benefits strategies that balance cost-effectiveness with competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate benefit plan performance, identify emerging trends, and recommend innovative solutions.
- Partner with clients on long-term benefits strategies that align with organizational goals and workforce needs.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and professionalism of all client deliverables, including reports, financial analyses, presentations, and compliance documents.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all federal and state regulatory requirements impacting employer-sponsored health and welfare benefit plans, including PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
- Support sales and growth initiatives by assisting with preparing client-ready presentations and proposals.
- Partner with business development teams during prospect presentations and finalist meetings.
Requirements
- At least seven years of experience required, preferably in a lead role on client accounts.
- Previous employment at an employee benefits consulting firm, insurance agency, or financial services firm.
- Thorough knowledge of compliance and regulatory obligations applicable to employer-sponsored health plans: PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, etc.
- Deep understanding of group insurance (medical, dental, vision & life and disability products), especially in the context of employee total rewards.
- Client-facing experience in a consulting environment, with strong presentation and meeting management skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Experience with Asana, Box, Salesforce, and/or Craft is considered a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Communications, Human Resources, or other related field or commensurate work experience.
- Strong analytical skills, along with strategic planning, communication, and listening skills
- Strong aptitude in project management, written and verbal communications, presentations, critical thinking, and financial analysis.
- Commitment to the accuracy of own and team’s work product and client deliverables.
- Must be able to manage large, complex projects, and effectively delegate project work, be detailed, organized and resourceful.
