About the role
- Lead a team of engineers and design technicians through all phases of project execution
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior-level engineers and team members
- Serve as project manager for INDOT and local agency roadway design projects from initiation to completion
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Perform quality checks and review/approve project deliverables including drawings and specifications
- Provide technical expertise in roadway design and identify process improvement opportunities
- Maintain and enhance client relationships; collaborate on strategic planning and business development
- Prepare proposals and funding applications; plan and coordinate engineering work to ensure timely delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Typically requires 12+ years of relevant experience in engineering
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance client relationships
- Experience with project management and accounting software
- Exceptional organization skills
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for design, project management, and analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
