About the role
- Assist in technical design and plan production for bridge projects of varying sizes
- Design new bridges and bridge widenings
- Design retaining walls and other transportation-related structures
- Collaborate with other design disciplines for project delivery
- Perform site visits as needed for local projects
- Provide direction to junior-level staff within project teams
- Work on multi-state projects and deliver technical, innovative solutions for clients
- Build and develop design skills in a collaborative team environment
Requirements
- BS or MS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 7+ years’ relevant experience in bridge engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) Certification
- Excellent technical skills in the design of bridges and transportation-related structures
- Experience with AASHTO LRFD
- Familiarity with MicroStation
- Experience with LEAP Bridge (CONSPAN and RCPier specifically)
- Experience with FBMultipier
- Experience with other structural engineering software (Midas Civil, Larsa, RM Bridge)
- Experience with AASHTOWare is a plus
- Experience with PA and NY state policies and procedures highly desired
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred: MS Degree in Civil Engineering
- Preferred: Experience with FDOT, SCDOT, GDOT, LADOTD, and TxDOT bridge policies and procedures
- Preferred: Load Rating experience
- Preferred: Bridge Maintenance experience
- Preferred: Bridge Inspection experience
- Preferred: Design-Build experience
