Serve as a Senior Structural Engineer technical manager in Geosyntec’s Geostructural and Construction Engineering practice
Provide technical guidance and senior review of calculations and structural models
Provide quality control of construction documents
Assist and train early and mid-career professionals with CAD coordination and plan development while serving as Task/Project manager
Serve as Engineer of Record when required
Contribute as a designer/analyst
Perform structural value engineering, third party design and constructability review, and risk assessment
Conduct structural condition assessments
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering focus (required)
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) (preferred)
Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) (required)
Professional registration as a Structural Engineer (S.E.) (preferred)
At least 8 years (10+ preferred) directly relevant experience in a design environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
Experience in the design and detailing of steel connections and reinforced concrete (required)
Experience in repair/retrofit design of concrete and steel structures (required)
The ability to sit for the NCEES 20-Hour Structural Engineering exam within two years of hire (preferred)
Knowledge of relevant structural engineering design and detailing software (RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE, GSA, etc.) (required)
Knowledge of design collaboration software (Bluebeam Studio), and operation of CAD/VDC/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) (preferred)
Knowledge of general numerical modeling tools (preferred)
Experience working within the construction sector or performing design work for contractors/construction managers (preferred)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, and meeting strict deadlines (required)
Field work and overnight travel may be required
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred)
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
Experience with RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE, GSA
