About the role
- Lead all aspects of the 24/7 Firewall Team, coordinating activities and ensuring service is maintained
- Act as key technical contact for the bank's critical infrastructure
- Plan and implement sophisticated changes, gateway upgrades and new builds
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members
- Deliver infrastructure and service improvement plans, including automation and IaC
- Balance risk and security requirements with transformation objectives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to meet customer needs
- Identify opportunities to reduce operating and change costs and adopt innovative delivery methods
Requirements
- Experience of owning an engineering team
- Managing risk and meeting security standards
- Prioritising maintaining/protecting service versus transforming capabilities
- Experience with ACI Technologies
- Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Dynatrace)
- Checkpoint Firewall knowledge preferred
- Experience with Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Python, Harness, Ansible, Terraform
- Superb communication and teamwork skills
- Ownership of unblocking technical challenges and proving new technical patterns
- Ability to reduce operating and change costs and improve change accuracy
- Strong people management abilities in geographically diverse teams
- Experience in regulated environments favourable
