About the role

  • Lead strategic policy projects that support the Group’s purpose and commercial priorities.
  • Develop new ideas and innovate.
  • Produce high-quality briefings and policy papers for senior leaders.
  • Monitor and analyse political developments across Westminster, devolved administrations, and regional and local government.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (at least seven or more years) in public policy leadership, ideally gained in central, regional, or local government, or a policy-focused role in a major institution (e.g. regulators, trade bodies, think tanks) or consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of UK political institutions, policy-making processes and the socio-economic challenges facing the country.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-makers and shape outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively, and present confidently to senior audiences.
  • A collaborative approach and entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to work across teams and build consensus in complex environments.
