Collaborate with the Lead Product Owner who defines the What and Why , while you drive the How —including engineering methods, technical decisions, and ways of working.
Champion modern engineering approaches including agile delivery, automation, observability, platform engineering and DevOps practices.
Encourage participation in Guilds , Communities of Practice , Inner Source , and engineering meet‑ups to drive continual improvement and knowledge sharing.
Support teams in adopting engineering practices aligned to Systems Thinking, Service Design and data‑driven decision making.
Talent‑spot, recruit, and develop engineers across infrastructure, software, DevOps and cloud disciplines.
Create a learning culture with a “Fail Fast, Learn Faster” mindset.
Coach engineers and engineering managers to build a strong, inclusive and collaborative culture.
Ensure all engineering work meets Bank standards for security, resilience, risk, and change control.
Maximise safe empowerment and delegated decision‑making across teams.
Work with architects and engineering communities to ensure alignment with patterns, standards, and best practice.

Requirements

Extensive software engineering background (any modern programming language).
Strong experience leading large-scale engineering teams in complex organisations.
Proven experience in cloud-based engineering—preferably Azure, GCP, Kubernetes or API platforms.
Deep understanding of modern software engineering lifecycle, DevOps tooling, CI/CD and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence).
Ability to build trust, resolve technical impediments, and facilitate high‑quality decision making.
