About the role
- Deploy, configure, and maintain core cybersecurity tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management) to support organizational security objectives
- Monitor the health and performance of security tools, applying updates and patches
- Assist in incident response by leveraging security tools to provide accurate data and support threat detection and mitigation
- Troubleshoot and resolve common tool-related issues; escalate complex problems to senior engineers or vendors
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate tools into enterprise systems and automate routine tasks using scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
- Participate in evaluating tool effectiveness and recommend improvements under the guidance of senior team members
- Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and workflows to ensure consistency and scalability
- Support management of threat detection tools to create a proactive security environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 2–4 years of experience working with cybersecurity tools or IT infrastructure security
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and vulnerability management tools
- Familiarity with PAM and other security technologies
- Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and troubleshooting
- Understanding of Linux and Windows environments; exposure to virtualization or cloud platforms is a plus
- Awareness of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn advanced security concepts
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively
- Entry-level or intermediate certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, or vendor-specific) are a plus but not required
