About the role
- Develop and implement pricing strategies for government contracts, considering factors such as cost competitiveness, cost centers, pricing regulations, and profitability goals.
- Establish and maintain standardized pricing for Commence’s software and services, ensuring competitiveness within the market while maintaining maximum profitability.
- Provide support during the proposal development process, including reviewing solicitations, participating in pricing strategy discussions, and contributing to proposal narratives.
- Develop and justify levels of effort based on program requirements in collaboration with SMEs and historical data.
- Prepare detailed price proposals and narratives in response to government solicitations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with customer requirements.
- Research and analyze competitor pricing strategies and contract awards to identify pricing trends and inform pricing decisions.
- Facilitate pricing data calls to Commence subcontractors, ensuring compliance with all opportunity requirements.
- Evaluate financial risks associated with proposed pricing strategies and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with government pricing regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) guidelines, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Utilize cost estimation tools and models to forecast project costs accurately and support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and business development, to develop pricing strategies that align with overall business objectives.
- Develop and maintain pricing databases to streamline pricing analysis and responses.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in pricing methodologies, tools, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal pricing.
- In-depth knowledge of federal procurement regulations, including FAR, DCAA guidelines, and CAS.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex pricing concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work output.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Preferred: Experience in developing federal pricing proposals for CMS, VA, DHA, and other health focused agencies.
- Preferred: Experience with developing pricing for both labor/services and software products.
