About the role

  • Overseeing the Facilities Engineering and Maintenance function
  • Providing direction and operational support for all Warehouse equipment, refrigeration contractor management, material handling equipment maintenance and facilities maintenance activities
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholder expectations and contributing toward achieving departmental goals
  • Managing the performance of maintenance work, both preventative and corrective
  • Focus on safety compliance and related legal aspects
  • Carrying out and registering mandatory technical inspections
  • Advising and initiating action in consultation with the Regional Engineering Manager (REM)
  • Working closely with the Site Management for coordination of activities
  • Administering company policies and managing local SOPs
  • Establishing and implementing metrics
  • Working on sustainability projects (reducing CO2 impact of Lineage)
  • Reviewing and analyzing activities, costs, operations, and forecasted data to champion process improvement
  • Working on site Capex and Opex projects under guidance of the Regional Engineering Manager

Requirements

  • Typically have five + years of successful distribution and warehouse engineering/maintenance management and leadership
  • A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering beneficial but not essential (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent)
  • Experience working with refrigeration systems at industrial level
  • A business background to include competency in maintaining/engineering the various functional areas of refrigeration, MHE, building maintenance, warehouse automation, IT systems, and supply chain optimization
  • An ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Excellent communicating skills in English
