About the role

  • Leading and managing a team of nurse disability consultants and behavioral health consultants
  • Partnering closely with medical and vocational operations
  • Serving as a consultant to the claim operations team for complex clinical issues.
  • Using critical thinking to analyze, identify, and develop data, trends, reports, and resources that improve delivery of services
  • Continuously developing process enhancements
  • Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends
  • Assessing the impact, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments
  • Managing and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management initiatives
  • Establishing and implementing individual and team priorities, performance goals and objectives
  • Managing workloads appropriately among team members
  • Providing training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members
  • Managing and evaluating individual/team performance and taking appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements that create efficiencies or improve quality
  • Serving as a resource to team members and internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects
  • Ensuring prompt and effective customer support and escalation to appropriate stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of Disability Management (STD/LTD), Workers Compensation, Utilization Review and/or nurse case management
  • Current Registered Nurse license
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree
  • 3- 5 years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
