Develop and implement more complex Excel-based testing models for Variable, Fixed, Indexed, Immediate and Deferred Income Annuities to ensure the accuracy of our illustration system(s), including but not limited to: adding new products to existing spreadsheet models, creating new spreadsheets for new products, and updating existing spreadsheets for product changes.
Analyze and prepare spreadsheets for the Illustration and technical system(s) with each release to verify product accuracy.
Lead in debugging the Illustration and technical system and determine the sources of differences from the benchmark tool.
Add new products and update existing products as needed in the NY Reg 60 spreadsheet.
Respond to queries from distribution regarding product illustrations and projections.
Clarify product design and calculations using benchmark test tools.
Serve as a resource for ad hoc annuity product pricing and risk analysis assignments as needed.
Perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of your assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for your assigned area(s) of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Promote and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within your assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Requirements

4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in mathematics, computer science or similar technical field
3 – 5+ Years of Experience in modeling or programming that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
Advanced Spreadsheet and programming experience with VBA or other similar languages
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, independent, motivated, innovative
Ability to work with others in a collaborative team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of annuity products and markets preferred
Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents
Apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Evaluate trends in data or information.
Demonstrated solid relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues)
