About the role
- Expertise in electrical design of SPM machines, heavy equipment and large electromechanical systems using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Create general arrangement and electrical schematics.
- Design control panels, safety circuits, and select servo motors & drives.
- Perform PLC I/O mapping, field wiring and electrical troubleshooting.
- Design and specify MCC, PCC and VFD panels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project delivery and NPI.
- Use PLC programming (ladder logic, function block) and SCADA where required.
- Work with Electrical CAD tools (AutoCAD, E-PLAN, Solidworks Electrical) to produce drawings.
- Ensure compliance with electrical symbols and standards (IEC60617, IEEE Std 315-1975) and certification requirements (ATEX, CE, UL).
- Engage in product lifecycle management and collaborate with mechanical teams to develop and improve processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent.
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical design, with specific experience in wiring design for panels, machine drives or industrial automation.
- 5-10 years of experience in PLC programming.
- Experience creating electrical drawings, schematic drawings and electrical layout drawings.
- Experience working with wiring harness in SPM machines, control systems and heavy machinery.
- Sound knowledge of PLC systems, control panel layouts, and wiring routing.
- Experience with specific PLC brands (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and SCADA software may be required.
- Hands-on experience with Electrical CAD packages (AutoCAD, E-PLAN or similar) and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Knowledge of Solidworks Electrical and other electrical design software is a plus.
- Knowledge of MCC, PCC, VFD panels.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block diagram).
- Familiarity with electrical symbols and standards (IEC60617, IEEE Std 315-1975).
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in ATEX, CE, UL certification and safety standards is an added advantage.
- Experience in Welding, Industrial Automation, Oil & Gas, Electric Power Generation, or electrical panel development is advantageous.
- Proficient in Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) full product cycle.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
