About the role
- The Staff Accountant prepares the monthly financial results and analysis.
- They will prepare general accounting journal entries and reconciliations as well as manage capital assets and prepaids.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations related to general accounting, fixed assets & intangibles, prepaid, leases, contract payables and accrued liabilities as well as others assigned.
- Maintain the purchase order tracking and process as well as work with Finance to ensure adherence with budget.
- Maintain the intangibles, fixed asset schedules, amortization and depreciation and help manage the classifications working across the organization.
- Prepare bank reconciliation; handle new vendor onboarding forms in Malbek and setup in Microsoft D365.
- Analyze transactions and account balances to support the monthly close and ensure accuracy of the financial statements.
- Review board memo and financial statements.
- Amex and Concur accounting, including the review of Credit Card policy.
- Review Capex and prepaid related AP entries.
- Support detailed review of the departmental reporting.
- Support the audit as requested.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, as well as the review accounting policies and procedures; Maintains integrity and confidentiality of the organizational information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- 2-4 years plus experience in general accounting role.
- Clear understanding of GAAP to identify proper accounting in financial statements.
- Federal and state tax knowledge and ability to research.
