About the role

  • Technical and subject-matter leadership of new developments and further developments, as well as handling sales and after-sales service orders for the assigned product line
  • Definition of development objectives (specification) based on the requirements specification (Lastenheft) in coordination with Product Management and After-sales/Service
  • Preliminary technical design, cost estimation and scheduling for the development project
  • Presentation of development objectives and progress in gate review meetings
  • Coordination of material procurement with Purchasing and Production
  • Coordination of equipment approvals and tests (internal and external)
  • Cross-departmental technical leadership of development activities
  • Monitoring of development progress and the development objectives of projects
  • Consideration of third-party intellectual property and filing of our own IP rights
  • Support of Sales and After-sales/Service in customer meetings and visits
  • Active and/or passive participation in internal and external conferences and presentations
  • Planning of departmental resources and coordination of resources in other technical departments

Requirements

  • Successfully completed degree (university, technical university or university of applied sciences) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in technical product development in a similar role
  • Management experience and leadership skills
  • Good command of English
  • Holistic thinking ability as well as a structured and goal-oriented working style
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • High degree of initiative and sense of responsibility
