About the role
- Manage and direct all facets of the work site located at our Bedford, NS office
- Provide strategic oversight and coordination of all site operations encompassing production, product development, quality assurance, supply chain management, environmental health and safety, as well as facilities management
- Lead cross-functional teams to meet production milestones, program requirements and facilities budgets
- Collaborate with program management, engineering and program finance to support contract deliverable and modifications
- Champion lean manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to all DoD, ITAR, ISO and AS standards
- Partner with Quality and other functions to maintain audit readiness and corrective action tracking
- Provide high level sponsorship of quality, customer satisfaction and employee retention initiatives
- Oversee site-level budget planning and cost control
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources including materials, personnel and equipment
- Participate in the development of operational objectives and long- and short-term planning for the organization
- Advise senior leadership of business opportunities, challenges, and risks
- Represent the Company as appropriate in its relationships with major customers, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, professional societies, and similar groups
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and development opportunities for direct reports
- Manage workforce planning, hiring, training and performance management
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Requirements
- 15+ Years experience in site management and people leadership
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong business acumen to forge a successful business strategy for the organization
- Exemplary leadership ability
- Strong interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Excellent planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
- Ability to work on extremely complex problems
- Ability to motivate and adapt to change driving toward success.
