About the role
- Lead a workstream or regional portfolio within the Real Estate practice area
- Provide practical, timely, and business-forward legal advice
- Oversee, draft, negotiate, and resolve complex agreements
- Support zoning, entitlement, development, and construction-related legal requirements
- Manage matter-level financial responsibilities
- Develop and implement legal standards, processes, and playbooks for the Real Estate practice area
- Lead and mentor individual-contributor attorneys and legal professionals
- Serve as a key legal partner to business leaders
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the U.S.
- 10-15 years of legal experience, with substantial experience in real estate transactions, land acquisition, land development, homebuilding, commercial real estate, or construction
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating acquisition agreements and related transaction documents
- Ability to provide clear, practical, risk-balanced advice to business leaders and cross-functional teams
- Strong negotiation, analytical, judgment, and communication skills
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing legal teams and external counsel
- Prior experience in a senior in-house legal role or comparable law firm position
