About the role
- Process and reconcile daily incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring customer accounts across all Lendable products are updated promptly and accurately.
- Manage and resolve payment queries and tickets, collaborating with internal colleagues and external partners to investigate and resolve issues.
- Prepare and review payment files for upload, support weekly and month-end operational tasks, and assist with reporting requirements.
- Monitor payment systems and dashboards to identify exceptions, working quickly to resolve discrepancies and ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant payment regulations and compliance requirements.
- Suggest and support improvements to payment operations processes to keep pace with our growth and maintain best-in-class standards.
- Support projects and wider financial operations initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payments operations or finance operations role, preferably in a fintech or consumer lending business.
- Solid understanding of UK payment rails (Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS) and experience with payment platforms or providers.
- Experience with back-office consumer lending systems and working with repayment tables/schedules is highly advantageous.
- Highly proficient in using Google Sheets/Excel for everyday reconciliation and operational tasks, including Vlookup, pivot tables and data validation.
- Familiarity with SQL or working with data systems is a bonus.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to manage priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Diligent and accurate in processing transactions and following procedures.
- Comfortable with fast-paced, at times ambiguous environments.
- Proactive communicator, capable of working well within a team and with external partners.
- Eager to identify process improvements and contribute to a high-performing operations function.
