About the role

  • Support design, development, testing, and maintenance of web-based applications hosted on AWS
  • Implement AWS-managed services, container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code (CDK or Terraform), and Python-based automation
  • Interface with relational and non-relational data sources and integrate data
  • Contribute to DevOps pipelines and deployment automation
  • Build scalable cloud-native solutions and support full-stack tasks, including JavaScript/TypeScript when needed
  • Work in a hybrid arrangement (approximately 2–3 days per week on-site in Fort Meade, MD)
  • Support critical infrastructure for VSO's hybrid cloud and managed services consulting work

Requirements

  • 7-9 years of professional experience supporting design, development, testing, and maintenance of web-based applications hosted on AWS
  • Experience with AWS Lambda
  • Experience with Amazon API Gateway
  • Experience with Amazon ECS / EKS
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) or Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Python for scripting and automation
  • JavaScript/TypeScript (preferred)
  • CI/CD practices, automated testing, deployment automation
  • Containerization: Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • API/interface development for data integration
  • Web application and cloud-native architecture experience
  • Full-stack development experience (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) security clearance required
  • Must be able to work approximately 2–3 days per week on-site in Fort Meade, MD
