Develop electrical designs, studies, and layouts that meet client specifications and industry standards
Develop designs, plans, calculations, and material specifications for electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards
Deliver high-quality engineering solutions for oil and gas processing facilities, including developing electrical specifications and equipment selection
Design and specify MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, switchgear, and other electrical equipment
Execute engineering scope, schedules, and budgets; monitor progress to ensure project objectives are met
Prepare and review drawings, material lists, data sheets, and vendor information for technical accuracy
Provide support during construction, including review of contract documents, technical support to field contractors, and coordination with clients
Collaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
Mentor and provide direction to junior engineers and designers as required
Ensure compliance with Lauren’s health, safety, and quality standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
8–15 years of experience in engineering design or EPCM projects within Oil & Gas or related industries
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in AB or BC (eligibility in both provinces is an asset)
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with peers, project managers, and clients
Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
Familiarity with DBMs, project planning, and scheduling from an electrical perspective is an asset
Experience mentoring and providing direction to junior engineers and designers
Ability to provide technical support during construction and coordinate with clients
