About the role
- Lead and direct development of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects as a client-facing project manager
- Manage planning, design, and construction administration of projects to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, and Arcadis quality and safety practices
- Communicate with clients, establish goals and objectives for project teams, and schedule and coordinate resources to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Provide technical expertise on multi-disciplined projects as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor
- Supervise and support the work of others while mentoring junior level engineers and technical staff
- Work directly with clients to determine needs, deliver solutions, and lead growth of client relationships
- Lead teams in marketing and proposal phases including preparation of proposals, presentations, scopes of work, and budgets
- Participate in business development activities and manage client accounts; may be embedded in client offices as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of water / wastewater and stormwater experience
- At least 10 years of project management experience managing mid to large sized, multi-disciplined municipal water, wastewater or stormwater projects
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in IN; ability to obtain license in IL, OH, and KY
- Experience with water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater management, pump/lift station, and water/wastewater treatment facility engineering including investigations, studies, analysis, designs, and construction administration services
- Experience managing planning, design, and construction administration to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations
- Technical expertise to serve as design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor
- Supervisory and mentoring experience supporting junior engineers and technical staff
- Client management skills, including identifying potential projects, preparing proposals, and building client relationships
- Experience in preparing construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates
- Strong business acumen and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Active participation in local professional associations, industry activities, and conferences
- Self-motivated; ability to be embedded in a local client’s office as needed
