About the role
- Barnet is setting up a new Selective Licensing Scheme requiring landlords to license their private rented properties
- Provide technical and administrative support to the Selective Licensing Team within Housing Regulatory Services
- Train and support more junior staff and work closely with the Team Manager auditing cases and ensuring process accuracy
- Act as the link between Team Managers and officers to ensure accurate and comprehensive scheme technical support
- Enable Technical Support Officers and Enforcement Officers to protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of every resident, worker and visitor within the Borough
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a customer facing role
- A good level of education to enable effective verbal and written communications
- Qualifications equivalent to 64 UCAS points (e.g. 2 A Levels at grade C or above)
- Existing technical knowledge of the relevant areas of Housing Regulatory Services or the ability to develop technical knowledge
- Experience of operating data management systems and be highly proficient in Microsoft Word
- Ability to provide accurate, comprehensive and efficient technical support including the drafting of legal documents
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with a wide range of contacts and to deal with difficult or complex issues
- Self motivated and adaptable, skilled in planning and prioritising workloads independently and meeting pre set targets
