Support RC-135 Mission Training Systems at Offutt AFB: maintenance, test, sustainment, and subject matter expertise on mission systems simulators.
Operate LOS and SATCOM radios in voice, text, and data modes; perform radio front panel and remote loading, configuration, and operation.
Configure, load, operate, and maintain various crypto devices; perform configuration, setup, and usage of Data Transfer Devices.
Operate and sustain various datalinks and broadband communications; troubleshoot/repair HF, VHF, and UHF receiver/transmitter systems.
Troubleshoot Antennae, RF distribution, diplexers, and RF switches; repair coax, ethernet, and multi-pin cables and connections.
Operate and sustain digital/computer-based systems, associated networks, digital and analog audio/interphone and recorder systems.
Utilize signal generators, spectrum analyzers and other advanced test equipment; use electronic schematic diagrams to troubleshoot and repair circuits.
Document system status using maintenance documentation systems, standardized forms and equipment tags; manage system records and coordinate parts requisition and turn-in.
Instruct others on communication systems configuration, operations, and troubleshooting; prioritize work tasks based upon operational needs.
Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders daily, and occasional work at heights (50-100 ft); work mission-dependent shifts and travel up to 5%.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of prior experience on communications, RF systems, datalinks, crypto, computers, and LAN networks.
Graduate Degree with two (2) years of prior experience in communications, RF systems, datalinks, crypto, computers, and LAN networks.
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of six (6) years of prior experience in communications, RF systems, datalinks, crypto, computers, and LAN networks.
Active Secret Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance within the first year.
Ability to successfully obtain DoD Information Assurance level I certification or higher within the first year.
Ability to successfully obtain CompTIA level 1 certification within the first year.
Previously qualified to operate/sustain RC-135 aircraft and/or ground communication systems or similar within the last 3 years.
