About the role

  • Manage a complex and strategic portfolio of work, providing business, contractual, and risk mitigation strategic guidance for DoD-related Commercial and CAS covered contracts from contract inception to contract close-out
  • Contractual support to business-critical areas including the development and advancement of commercial and programmatic strategies, operational decision making, delivering proposal risk analysis and mitigation alternatives, and negotiation oversight
  • Apply contracts direction in contract formation activities, such as defending Commercial Item positions, maximizing negotiated outcomes, and providing broad based business judgement while monitoring compliance with government acquisition regulations
  • Participate in the proposal development process by identifying areas of risk, and promoting innovative solutions to internal and external customers
  • Outreach and partner with other key functional areas, such as Finance, Programs and Sales on new and continuing programs to ensure desired objectives and outcomes are achieved
  • Continue to advance commercial pricing strategies and support commercial item procurement justifications where applicable
  • Analyze new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business goals and objectives
  • Work in partnership with legal counsel to provide recommendations from a Contracts perspective on legal activities, intellectual property interests, disputes, claims, protests, and lawsuits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience in Contract Management and US Government Federal Acquisition Regulation
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • In depth knowledge of contract lifecycle management: RFP review, proposal preparation, negotiation, and administration
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and computer skills
  • Creative and strategic mindset
