About the role
- Pursuit and acquisition of new Power Systems and RocketWorks (PS&RW) program business opportunities as they emerge.
- Shape, bid, capture, and manage new technology contracts for PS&RW programs including creating or supporting the creation of papers and presentations for customers and/or conferences.
- Support new business capture/gate review process for projects with support from the business development team.
- Support efforts to propose and capture new PS&RW opportunities related to the Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) and nuclear power and propulsion.
- Support efforts for existing (i.e., milestone reviews) and follow on work to the NGRTG, DRPS and MMRTG programs.
- Support PS&RW internal research and development (IR&D) tasks.
- Build relationships with customers and suppliers, shape opportunities, present on topics, and understand the current state of the industry.
- Occasional travel to build relationships with existing and potential customers and suppliers, shape opportunities, and understand the current state of the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior program management experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior program management experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior program management experience.
- Experience working with suppliers and customers in relation to space systems.
- Experience managing, bidding, and developing space systems for DoD, DoE, NASA and/or commercial applications.
- Working knowledge of radioisotope thermoelectric generator design and fabrication.
- Ability to understand, edit, and implement and/or perform the life prediction performance analysis for thermoelectric generators.
- Experience writing proposals and development of cost volumes.
- Experience with diverse technology program planning, risk and opportunity analysis, work package development, and program execution.
- Proficient in the use of all the basic MS Office tools, computer operating systems, MS Outlook, MS Excel (entering formulas, graphing, developing spreadsheets), MS PowerPoint (presentations, storyboard development, logic diagrams), and MS Word (tables, program plans).
