About the role

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return
  • Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor quality assurance standards
  • Assist in directing and supervising all functions, duties and activities for the Front-end department
  • Support day-to-day Front-end operations and assist with execution of best practices and department standards
  • Promote trust and respect among associates and collaborate with Front-end associates to promote teamwork
  • Answer customer questions regarding products and maintain product knowledge to make suggestions
  • Assist with monitoring and controlling supply expenses and managing cash control, sales and cash records
  • Manage scheduling of Front-end associates to provide adequate department coverage
  • Assist store management with budgets, profit and loss reviews, labor scheduling and department action plans
  • Adhere to food safety regulations, ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and maintain temperature logs
  • Reinforce safety programs, inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report safety risks or illegal activity
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and comply with local, state and federal laws
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Requirements

  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Retail or Customer Service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (desired)
  • Management experience (desired)
  • Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) (desired)
