About the role
- Play a crucial role in onboarding new merchants to the Stay platform and provide theme work as part of a white glove onboarding process
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ES6
- Implement responsive, mobile-first designs and ensure cross-browser compatibility
- Collaborate with onboarding managers and back-end developers to translate UI/UX wireframes into functional, polished storefronts
- Design with an eye for site speed, accessibility, and overall performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to themes, storefront performance, and integrations
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of experience as a Front-End Developer, with a focus on eCommerce
- Hands-on experience with Shopify theme development and the Liquid templating language
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery
- Understanding of SEO best practices and web performance optimization
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with minimal oversight in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-moving environment
- Stay current with Shopify updates, front-end best practices, and emerging technologies
- Nice to haves: Experience with version control (Git) and modern build tools (Webpack, npm, etc.)
- Nice to haves: Experience with landing page builders (Shogun, Replo, PageFly, Instant, Gempages)
- Nice to haves: Familiarity with Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design tools for front-end implementation
