About the role
- Own technical discovery and solution design for school districts and partners, from initial conversations through implementation.
- Translate ambiguous customer needs into clear technical architectures, integration plans, and deployment strategies.
- Design scalable solutions that integrate with district systems (e.g., LMS, SIS, rostering tools).
- Work across the stack: APIs, data pipelines, backend systems, and product workflows.
- Partner closely with sales and customer success to support pilots, POCs, and full deployments.
- Collaborate with engineering to scope work, unblock implementations, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Create clear technical documentation, including integration guides, architecture diagrams, and implementation playbooks.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and serve as a trusted advisor to customers.
- Drive repeatable processes and best practices for scaling implementations across districts.
- Maintain high quality while moving quickly in a fast-paced startup environment.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting (SaaS or EdTech preferred).
- Strong technical fluency: comfortable discussing APIs, system architecture, data flows, and integration patterns.
- Experience working with REST APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-based systems.
- Proficiency in Python or similar language for scripting, debugging, or prototyping.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and design practical solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders (e.g., educators, administrators).
- Experience integrating with LMS/SIS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Clever, ClassLink) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or experience working with AI-driven products is a plus.
- Low-ego collaborator who values clarity, ownership, and speed.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment.
