About the role
- Responsible for leading the planning, design, and coordination of architectural projects, including new construction, renovations, and expansions.
- Serves as a key liaison between clients, internal teams, and external partners to ensure design solutions align with client goals, regulatory requirements, and budget constraints.
- Plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, innovative design solutions while supporting efficient project execution from concept through construction.
- Identifies client requirements, approximate budget, timetable, and future expansion needs.
- Prepares and presents designs, specifications, estimated costs, and proposed construction schedule.
- Creates detailed construction document plans and specifications integrating engineering, electrical, HVAC considerations; presents plans to clients for review and approval.
- Collaborates with clients to select and award construction contracts.
- Collaborates with subconsultants, construction managers, and clients to facilitate the building process to meet specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree preferred
- Five (5+) years of relevant architectural design experience required
- Strong proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Enscape
- Proficient in architectural design principles, building systems, local building codes and regulations, and construction methods required.
- Active board licensure in State of Michigan required.
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and consultation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for architectural design
- Ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel throughout the state of Michigan regularly (2-3 days per week) to client sites and in-person meetings, required.
