About the role

  • Responsible for leading the planning, design, and coordination of architectural projects, including new construction, renovations, and expansions.
  • Serves as a key liaison between clients, internal teams, and external partners to ensure design solutions align with client goals, regulatory requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, innovative design solutions while supporting efficient project execution from concept through construction.
  • Identifies client requirements, approximate budget, timetable, and future expansion needs.
  • Prepares and presents designs, specifications, estimated costs, and proposed construction schedule.
  • Creates detailed construction document plans and specifications integrating engineering, electrical, HVAC considerations; presents plans to clients for review and approval.
  • Collaborates with clients to select and award construction contracts.
  • Collaborates with subconsultants, construction managers, and clients to facilitate the building process to meet specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Five (5+) years of relevant architectural design experience required
  • Strong proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Enscape
  • Proficient in architectural design principles, building systems, local building codes and regulations, and construction methods required.
  • Active board licensure in State of Michigan required.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and consultation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for architectural design
  • Ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel throughout the state of Michigan regularly (2-3 days per week) to client sites and in-person meetings, required.
