About the role
- 1 year Fixed Term contract reporting to the Site Manager
- Develop and implement Health and Safety management systems at site level
- Provide advice and support to Business Unit Managers to help them fulfil H&S responsibilities
- Liaise with Group H&S support services to align site systems with Group strategy
- Record and investigate all accidents, monitor trends and produce statistics for BU managers
- Develop, implement and review Health and Safety practices, policies and procedures
- Lead in-house training with managers and employees and ensure all personnel are safety trained and competent
- Undertake and assist Business Unit Managers with risk assessments and review them regularly
- Implement internal audit processes, undertake unscheduled safety audits and measure performance
- Chair Site Safety meetings and present monthly written safety reports to the Site Manager
- Enforce policy, identify breaches and liaise with HSA and external agencies regarding H&S matters
Requirements
- Must have 2+ years Health and Safety experience ideally within Food or Manufacturing environment
- H&S Degree or Diploma
- Experience in a Training environment would be beneficial
- Strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative without immediate hands on support
