About the role

  • Report to the Director of People Operations
  • Lead payroll, benefits, equity, recognition, and rewards administration and serve as the go-to person for employee questions and concerns
  • Build and maintain healthy and trusted relationships across the business
  • Identify and facilitate enhancements to systems, processes, and procedures
  • Champion employee experience and continuously improve offerings
  • Field questions and concerns from employees at all levels; provide answers, coaching, and direct employees to appropriate resources
  • Foster a supportive and approachable environment delivering exceptional, timely, and empathetic service
  • Prepare and deliver key management reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and policy best practices
  • Contribute to general People Operations functions as needed, including supporting processes throughout the employee life cycle, maintaining HRIS data, and assisting with special projects

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of People Operations experience, with specific experience in administering payroll and benefits
  • Experience with Paylocity HCM solution is highly preferred
  • Intermediate Excel skills; ability to use vlookup and pivot tables
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in payroll including preparation, balancing, calculation, processing, internal control, and US payroll taxes across 20+ states
  • Knowledge of standard benefits offerings, FSA/HSA and 401k, and best practices in reconciling related invoices
  • Demonstrated ability to administer payroll and benefits
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships across the business
  • Ability to identify and facilitate enhancements to systems, processes, and procedures
  • Strong employee service skills: coaching, answering questions, directing employees to resources
  • Ability to handle confidential information and be sensitive to personal situations
  • Self-starter who can work independently and proactively solve problems
  • Thorough, detail-oriented, and excited to solve challenging problems
  • Strategic, entrepreneurial thinker comfortable taking calculated risks
  • Ability to work in a team-focused, collaborative environment
  • Must be located in and eligible to work in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut
