About the role
- Oversee the health, safety and wellbeing of all Boning Hall team members
- Oversee production of high-quality beef and lamb products meeting customer, food safety and regulatory specifications
- Lead and manage the Boning Hall to deliver on core KPIs and margin targets
- Ensure cross-training and role-specific training of staff in line with Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements
- Promote positive employee relations and manage staff leave, absence, disciplinary, and grievance processes
- Oversee the smooth running of boning hall processes including equipment and production process
- Collaborate with support functions (Finance, Food Safety and Quality, Supply Chain, IT) to enable success
- Ensure department adherence to Group standards and strategic initiatives
- Maintain audit readiness and compliance with Kepak and customer food safety and quality standards
- Implement 5S principles to company standards
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in boning hall processes
Requirements
- Experience in primary meat processing at management level
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Product and meat processing industry knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commercial awareness and operational business change
- Lean Six Sigma qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of HACCP, NEBOSH/IOSH (preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Office and Excel applications
- Ensure compliance with customer and food safety specifications and regulations
