Adjunct Faculty – English as a Second Language

Student

• The Student Support Concierge serves as a primary point of contact for online students, providing personalized support, academic guidance, and resource coordination throughout the student lifecycle.
• The position is responsible for assisting students with enrollment and registration processes, monitoring academic progress, connecting students with appropriate university resources, and promoting student persistence and success.
• Through proactive communication and relationship building, the Student Support Concierge helps ensure students remain engaged and supported while pursuing their educational goals in an online learning environment.
• Serve as the primary student support contact for assigned online students throughout their academic experience.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with students through regular outreach via phone, email, video conferencing, and other communication platforms.
• Assist students with course registration processes, registration requirements, and enrollment-related questions.
• Provide academic advisement regarding course selection, degree progression, academic policies, and available educational opportunities within established institutional guidelines.

• Inform and discuss student issues with Program Administrator, as applicable.
• Work under the supervision of the academic administrator of the director of the academic unit in which the course is listed and being taught and will attend an orientation session arranged by the director.
• Communicate in writing with students, Course Coordinator, Program Director, and/or student's academic advisor if a student is not passing at midterm or at the end of the course.

Adjunct Nursing Faculty – Graduate

• Adjunct faculty will work under the supervision of the academic administrator or the academic faculty of the course.
• Facilitate quality learning experiences that provide a risk-free environment for student learners.

Software Engineer

• The Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Course Developer is responsible for designing and developing high-quality academic course content for Kentucky State University's accelerated online academic programs.
• Working collaboratively with instructional designers and academic leadership, the SME creates engaging, academically rigorous, and accessible online learning experiences that align with university standards, program learning outcomes, accreditation expectations, and applicable federal and state requirements.
• This position is project-based and does not include instructional responsibilities unless separately appointed.
• Develop complete online courses aligned with approved program and course learning outcomes, including syllabi, measurable learning objectives, instructional materials, lectures, readings, learning activities, discussion prompts, and assessments.
• Design authentic assessments, including papers, projects, examinations, presentations, and grading rubrics, that effectively measure student learning and competency attainment.
• Collaborate with instructional designers to prepare course materials for asynchronous online delivery through the University's learning management system while incorporating accessibility standards and effective online instructional practices.
• Ensure course content reflects current scholarship, professional standards, and industry best practices.
• Complete curriculum mapping and other documentation necessary to support institutional assessment and accreditation requirements.

Subject Matter Expert – Course Developer

Associate

• Develop, implement, and evaluate statewide 4-H Aquatic Science educational programs that promote youth development through hands-on learning experiences.
• Plan and deliver educational programs using a variety of instructional methods, including classroom instruction, demonstrations, workshops, field activities, camps, conferences, webinars, and other educational formats.
• Develop curriculum, lesson plans, educational publications, fact sheets, instructional videos, digital resources, and other educational materials that support Extension programming.
• Coordinate and conduct aquatic science educational activities related to aquaculture, aquaponics, hydroponics, fisheries, sport fishing, water quality, environmental stewardship, and related disciplines.
• Collaborate with county Extension personnel to strengthen local programming and expand educational opportunities for youth.
• Develop and conduct in-school and out-of-school educational programs that promote leadership development, life skills, and career awareness through aquatic science education.
• Coordinate, plan, conduct, and evaluate professional development opportunities for county Extension personnel related to aquatic science and youth programming.

Manager

• Provides leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management for Student Support Concierge team members.
• Recruits, trains, mentors, and evaluates Student Support Concierge staff, including onboarding new employees and supporting ongoing professional development.
• Coordinates staff assignments, caseloads, work schedules, and service coverage to ensure timely and consistent student support.
• Develops, implements, and continuously evaluates standard operating procedures, workflows, and service standards to improve operational effectiveness.
• Serves as the primary liaison between the Student Support Concierge team and the Director of Online Education by communicating operational updates, escalating complex student concerns, and reporting performance metrics.

• Responsible for establishing service standards, supervising staff, monitoring student success initiatives, analyzing operational data, and coordinating student support services across University departments to promote student retention, persistence, and academic success.
• Exercises independent judgment in resolving complex student concerns, improving operational processes, and ensuring consistent, high-quality support for online learners.
• Serves as the primary liaison between the Student Support Concierge team and the Office of Online Education and is responsible for maintaining effective communication, performance accountability, and continuous service improvement.
