About the role
- Support metal-cutting manufacturing operations and steel cutting tool production
- Enable production performance for cost, quality, and delivery while meeting environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through new equipment, systems, and programming techniques
- Support CNC milling, CNC turning, CNC grinding, induction brazing, EDM, heat treatment, surface treatment, and additive manufacturing
- Maintain equipment, processes, and the facility; supervise and provide direction for maintenance team and manage maintenance budget
- Determine manufacturing process including creating routings and bill of materials, procuring tooling, and designing work holding and gauges
- Coordinate preproduction with Production Planning, Quality Assurance, CNC Programming, and Manufacturing
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements
- Communicate and coordinate with machine manufacturers or 3rd party services to address machine issues
- Develop project plans, budgets, select teams, assign activities, conduct progress reviews, and implement corrective actions
- Prepare metrics, progress, status reports, develop/transition new processes, and write work instructions, procedures, and control plans
- Reports to Manager, Process Engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience required
- 5 years of experience in engineering industries preferred
- Experience in metal-cutting and CNC preferred
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and CAD/CAM software (NX preferred)
- Effective communication with shopfloor employees and cross functional departments
- Knowledge on carbide tool manufacturing process
- Knowledge on production planning and scheduling
- Knowledge on SAP
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship now or in the future
