💰 £90,000 - £110,000 per year

About the role

  • Oversee business development efforts across our non-nuclear energy and resources portfolio, including renewable and conventional power generation, transmission and distribution sectors, to align with our strategic objectives.
  • Build and manage long-term client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and a key point of contact for clients.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Accountable for identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and reporting of the pipeline, revenue and profitability, performance and market intelligence to senior leadership.
  • Lead and develop a group of Business Development Managers on a day-to-day basis, providing functional leadership, coaching and mentoring.

Requirements

  • Skilful in enhancing business development and increasing sales, ideally in one or more of the renewables, conventional power or power transmission and distribution sectors in an engineering, technology or consultancy environment.
  • Ability to engage with technical teams and translate complex offerings into compelling business value.
  • Skilful communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Organized professional with a strategic mindset and a results-driven attitude.
  • Desirable Experience: Background in consulting would be advantageous.
  • Existing network within energy and resources utilities, OEMs, developers and regulators or related industries.
  • Experience with private sector procurement, including frameworks and research and innovation funding.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
