About the role
- Research, analyze, and assess business opportunities, consistent with company long-range and strategic goals.
- Evaluate opportunities through conducting financial feasibility studies, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Maintain professional relationships with existing clients and develop new client contacts in the assigned market.
- Keep abreast of development plans of existing clients and challenges they face.
- Identify new opportunities and work with the technical teams to grow profitable revenue for the company.
- Manage assigned pursuits, resources, schedules, and lead pursuit teams.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and assignments.
- Translate capture objectives into a schedule and series of activities to meet the required outcomes.
- Coordinate and work with KBR counterparts on cross-organizational synergy bids.
- Team development and management (subcontracting).
- Briefing leadership on strategy, capture status, teaming, milestone reviews, etc.
- Developing call plans, executing customer calls, and documenting interactions in call reports.
- Using information learned through research and client interactions to develop win strategies and solutions and effectively communicating these to the proposal operations team.
- Some travel will be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, communications, or related field
- 12+ years of industry experience including 6+ years of experience in business development
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an Active Secret security clearance
- Clear and compelling writing, strategic thinking, and project management skills
- Strong work ethic with the willingness to work overtime including nights and weekends on short notice
- Excellent communication/presentation skills including exceptional persuasive writing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook
- Superior organization and follow-through skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and analytical ability
- Proven winning track record is required.
