Job Level

About the role

  • Lead restructuring and workout situations across KAPC’s portfolio, including both in-court and out-of-court processes (e.g., amendments, liability management, Chapter 11, and rescue financings)
  • Act as primary point of contact on select stressed/distressed investments, driving strategy, negotiations, and execution
  • Develop and evaluate restructuring strategies, including capital structure solutions, liquidity management, and downside protection scenarios
  • Engage directly with management teams, sponsors, and advisors, including participation in board meetings and creditor negotiations
  • Oversee financial analysis and modeling, including liquidity forecasting, recovery analysis, and valuation work
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders, including deal teams, investment committee, and senior leadership
  • Manage external advisors, including legal counsel, financial advisors, and consultants
  • Monitor broader portfolio trends, identifying early warning signals and proactively managing risk across credits
  • Support underwriting teams on stressed situations, amendments, and opportunistic secondary or rescue investments

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in:
  • Restructuring advisory (e.g., FTI, Alvarez & Marsal, etc.)
  • Direct lending / private credit special situations or workouts
  • Credit restructuring groups at banks or investment firms
  • Experience working on the creditor / lender side is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated involvement in complex restructurings, including liability management and distressed situations
  • Ability to independently lead transactions and workstreams, not just support execution
  • Strong understanding of capital structures, credit documentation, and restructuring frameworks
  • Experience with middle market companies, ideally in a direct lending context
  • Financial modeling expertise, including liquidity analysis, recovery modeling, and downside scenarios
  • Comfort operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with limited infrastructure
  • Hybrid background across advisory and investing roles, providing both technical and ownership perspectives
  • Experience engaging at the board or management level, particularly in operational or turnaround situations
  • Track record of managing multiple concurrent situations within a portfolio setting
