About the role
- Performs evaluations on customer samples at designated locations in the Tokyo area, at customer premises, or at HQ in Germany depending on the case.
- Sets up and dismantles evaluation kits if necessary.
- May handle toxic materials depending on the sample. Protective measures must be applied.
- Creates reports after evaluations, by consulting with counterparts at HQ as well as the Körber Japan Sales team.
- Explains and discusses report contents with customers, either remotely or on-site, if required.
- Performs installations, commissioning, validation support, troubleshooting, conversions, and maintenance.
- Supports sales and project managers' activities, including attending customer meetings.
- Reports duty documents (technical reports, customer complaints, etc.) to both external and internal parties.
- Provides training to customers.
- Communicates directly with peers at HQ for technical clarifications.
- Attends internal training at HQ’s factory or customer premises as part of on-the-job training (OJT), in Japan or abroad.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in a technical field, preferably in mechatronics, image processing, electrical engineering, or information electronics.
- Ideally holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physics or optical systems and has initial professional experience.
- Possesses strong analytical skills and a structured, independent working style.
- Demonstrates strong customer and service orientation along with excellent communication skills.
- Native-level Japanese proficiency and very good written and spoken English.
- Solid PC skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Japan and occasionally to HQ abroad for FAT and training.
- High level of commitment and flexibility.
- Experience as a vision expert or field service engineer in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly with inspection machines, is a strong plus.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry (GMP, IQ, OQ, validation processes, etc.).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an international sales/service team.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
