About the role
- Lead development and ongoing refinement of J&J’s enterprise technology strategy, ensuring strong alignment to business priorities, emerging innovations, and industry direction.
- Monitor and synthesize trends across technology, AI, digital health, life sciences, and adjacent industries; translate these into clear, actionable strategic perspectives for senior stakeholders.
- Develop strategic frameworks, insights, and recommendations that shape investment decisions and guide strategic prioritization across the Technology organization.
- Produce compelling executive-level narratives and strategic deliverables (e.g., Executive Committee / Board of Director materials, strategic reviews, priority setting sessions) to clarify direction, drive alignment, and inform portfolio decisions.
- Create and deliver internal events, insight sessions, and fireside conversations with internal SMEs and external thought leaders to deepen organizational understanding of emerging trends.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Technology and Business leaders by providing synthesized insights, market context, and strategic points of view.
- Contribute to J&J’s AI strategy, including identifying high-value opportunities, shaping cross-functional roadmaps, and accelerating enterprise adoption.
- Partner with leaders across Technology and the business to drive AI fluency, responsible AI practices, and strategic experimentation at scale.
- Convene and guide cross-functional working groups to develop unified perspectives and drive consistent messaging and strategy execution across stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate deeply with Strategy & Operations peers, Enterprise Architecture, Data & AI teams, Talent, HR, Finance, Security, Global Corporate Affairs, and sector technology leaders.
- Build relationships with external experts, vendors, and thought leaders to bring outside-in perspectives into J&J.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree required.
- Masters degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in technology strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, digital transformation, or similar roles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality, compelling strategic narratives for senior executive audiences.
- AI Knowledge and Experience: Proven experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance product capabilities, improve user experience, and drive business outcomes.
- Deep understanding of emerging technologies (AI, digital health, cloud, data, etc.) and industry trends, ideally across healthcare and life sciences.
- High learning agility with demonstrated ability to rapidly learn, evaluate, and adopt new AI tools and platforms to meet evolving project needs.
- Exceptional communication, synthesis, and storytelling capability.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, experiment, navigate ambiguity, and bring new ideas from concept to execution in a highly matrixed environment.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated bias to action, ability to navigate ambiguity, and comfort operating in a highly dynamic environment.
- Strong facilitation skills and experience leading strategic workshops, insight sessions, or executive forums.
- A positive, can-do attitude with resilience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
