About the role

  • The Sr. Project Manager will be a core member of the OTTAVA surgical robotics team, responsible for driving the design and development of vision system from concept generation to launch.
  • The role will be accountable for developing end to end schedules and breaking them down into actionable quarterly objectives and key results.
  • The individual will champion a hybrid Agile methodology to focus and drive the teams to achieve important short-term milestones that are critical to the success of the overall development plan and strategy.
  • In collaboration with the team, the Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for risk management and mitigation which requires contingency planning, conflict resolution, and tradeoff assessments.
  • Another aspect of this role is being a champion of the team and building strong positive relationships with peers and multi-disciplinary functional partners.
  • The individual must be willing to challenge and communicate difficult decisions, strategies, and priorities while building a culture of collaboration and end to end accountability.
  • With other team leaders the individual should build a positive team environment and a culture with a sense of urgency, driving toward improved team effectiveness and achievement.

Requirements

  • B.S. is required, BS in Engineering or related technical subject area is highly preferred.
  • Prior program management experience of 5+ years is required, 7+ is preferred.
  • Previous experience leading a multi-disciplinary technical R&D project team is required, with experience working on a software-integrated HW product is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate has experience with surgical imaging, visualization, or advanced imaging/visualization modalities.
  • Experience with managing schedules with project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet is required; experience with Agile methodology and Jira capabilities preferred.
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment is required, and medical device experience is preferred.
  • High performer and leader with demonstrated ability to manage a complex program in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must demonstrate influence and conflict resolution skills and ability to work collaboratively to align diverse stakeholders and lead teams without direct reporting authority.
  • This position may require up to 10% travel.
