About the role
- Manage the direct suppliers' performance, mitigate risks, and continuously deliver business continuity plans.
- Oversee the management of the direct suppliers' relationship for day-to-day events.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure excellent and reliable sources of supply and information.
- Partner with Plan & Procurement functions to ensure demand alignment to meet and exceed reliability goals.
- Drive Performance Management by means of establishing Key Performance Indicators and Supplier Business Reviews/Sales and Operating Process (cS&OPs).
- Lead discussions with key functional partners across Quality, Planning, Procurement, etc. to drive resolution of out of specification materials, discontinued materials, etc.
- Identify non-compliance suppliers and works jointly with relevant departments to correct or exit if needed.
- Drive improvements in material reliability, customer fulfillment, supplier delivery performance, and responsiveness.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level by means of Short-Term Escalations Management (STEM) and actively work on the resolution.
- Build strong cross-functional teams, providing feedback and coaching to team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in Plan, Source, Supplier Quality, Operations, Logistics/Supply Chain or technical role within a high volume-manufacturing environment required (medical industry preferred).
- Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field.
- Strong project management skills are a plus.
- Insight into End-to-End supply chain characteristics and understanding of financial processes such as business case development, P&L calculation and COGS is preferred.
- Knowledge of specific business practices and software and software applications.
- Experience with MRP systems, such as SAP, is highly desired.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse supplier base
- Ability to work cooperatively with other cross functions and lead without authority.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in to comply civil rights requirements.
